Popular 80s misconceptions: Darth Vader never said "Luke, I am your father"

This just might be the most famous movie quotes in time. "Luke, I am your father". But in fact, Darth Vader didn't say that. The correct quote being "No, I am your father"... So how come we all recall a different quote?

This phenomenon is called "The Mandela effect". A some point in time a psychic called Fiona Broome claimed she remembered Mandela dying in prison in the eighties. She could even recall his funeral. Yet, Mandela died in 2013. Apparently, she wasn't the only one who "remembered" this.

The Mandela effect is a so-called "collective false memory": remembering a slightly different wording or event, by a large number op people. There's plenty of examples. You'll find more in this blog.
